Privacy Policy

Handled (“Handled,” “we,” “us”) cares about your privacy and collects as little as possible. This policy describes how we handle information on the handledappllc.com website and in the Handled app.

What we collect on this site

• Sign-up email. Until Sep 14, 2026 this site had a form that collected email addresses. We still hold the addresses collected for early access details, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. The form has been removed.
• Basic technical logs. Like most websites, our host records standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We don’t use it to build advertising profiles.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell or share your information for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• We don’t run third-party ad networks or cross-site tracking pixels.
• We don’t use non-essential cookies on this site.

How we use your email

Only to let you know when sign up opens. Nothing else. Every message includes a one-click way to opt out, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• Access the information we hold about you;
• Correct it, or delete it;
• Opt out of our emails at any time.

Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have these rights too, including the right not to be treated differently for exercising them. Because we don’t sell or share personal information, there’s nothing to opt out of on that front, but you’re welcome to contact us to confirm. To make a request, use our contact form.

The Handled app

The app is private by default: Handled sends your documents to your own cloud (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive), inside a single “Handled” folder. Handled keeps only the minimum it needs to organize and find things: metadata, a secure hash, and a timestamp.

When Ella reads a document, a forwarded email, a search, or a legal matter’s records, Handled sends that text or those images through Base44, which runs the app, to an AI model. The model returns a summary, a suggested folder, and dates. Handled doesn’t save a copy of the document to do this.

Emergency access

If you name trusted contacts, Handled keeps each contact’s name, email address, and relationship, and the password you set on your emergency file, so Handled can show that password to your contact after they enter a code Handled emails them. Handled doesn’t keep a copy of the emergency file. Handled places it in your own cloud.

The shop

The Handled shop at shop.handledappllc.com is run by Fourthwall. When you buy there, Fourthwall collects your name, shipping address, email address, and payment details as the seller of record, under Fourthwall’s own privacy policy and terms. Handled receives the order details Fourthwall shares with the shop owner, and does not receive your payment card details.

Gifts

If you buy a year of Handled for someone, we collect your name and email address, the recipient’s email address and first name, your message, and the date you choose. Stripe processes the payment under Stripe’s privacy policy. We keep these details so the gift can be applied when the recipient signs in with that address, and we email the recipient once, on the date you chose. We use the recipient’s address for nothing else, and the recipient can ask us to delete it at any time.

Data retention and security

We keep sign-up emails until sign up opens or until you ask us to remove them, and we hold data with reputable providers (such as Netlify for this website, Base44 for the app, Stripe for payments, and Fourthwall for the shop) under their security practices. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This site and Handled are intended for adults (18+). We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
